I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love having little things to look forward to in life. It just makes the work week a bit more bearable. Lately, glancing at my Kate Spade agenda and my mobile calendar (yes, I use two forms of calendar because one just isn’t enough!) has made me so happy because I have so many fun little things planned! Date nights with Ted, Thanksgiving dinner, Black Friday shopping, coffee and lunch with friends, Christmas shopping with my mom, and most recently a movie date with my mom.
We saw The Intern with Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. Let me just say, I was super impressed! I was interested in seeing it sure, but it totally blew my expectations out of the water. It was definitely one of those movies that had previews that didn’t do it justice. The story line really resonated with me, and it was a perfect balance between comedy, drama, and chick flick. I highly recommend it, and I think I may even pick up a copy to watch whenever I want!
Bottom line: My mom and I absolutely loved the movie and getting the opportunity to spend time with one another! Movie dates are great because you get to spend time with people you enjoy, eat super fattening food you enjoy (calories don’t count at the movie theater!), and be entertained (hopefully!) I also love movie dates because your attire can be pretty casual. As much as I love dressing up and feeling fancy, I also love putting together outfits that are comfy, casual, but still put together. Comfy does not have to equate to sloppy.
I decided on a pair of white, yes white! (because I know it’s after Labor Day, but I’m a rule-breaker) distressed skinny jeans (they may as well be sweat pants they’re so comfy!), an oversized loose knit sweater (metallic version here), an infinity scarf (from Gap Outlet, similar here), and some cute BP ankle booties (available in TONS of colors!). I also decided on a high ponytail to top off my casual comfy look.
Ted and I have a movie date this Friday and I’m already starting to plan that outfit! What movies have you see lately? What movies are you looking forward to!? (Confession: I already bought advanced tickets to Star Wars: The Force Awakens)
