2 NYE Looks: Sweet and Sexy

December 23rd, the day before Christmas Eve, I had one of those, holy-crap-I-have-nothing-to-wear-moments. We’ve all been there! The worst. Now, logically speaking, I had something to wear. It would have taken some piecing together, but somewhere in the depths of my closet and the corners of my dresser drawers, I had something to wear. But, in that particular moment there was no rationalizing with myself and the only cure for my fashion void panic attack was: shopping. I was pretty sure a cute new dress would calm my nerves and satisfy my shopping craving, but I of course ended up with more than just a cute dress.

I went to Target, which is sort of unlike me as far as clothing shopping is concerned. I just never have luck there, which is super frustrating because I see the cute pieces other bloggers find at their local Targets. Either mine gets picked over really quickly, or I don’t know in which depths of the store to look. Either way, something compelled me to look around there that day and I’m so happy I did. I walked away with two affordable and festive holiday looks that are perfect for a variety of different gatherings and NYE parties.

1) The Sweet and Sparkly

I saw this dress on the hanger, and did a double take. I couldn’t tell if it was cute or not at first, but it intrigued me enough to take it into the dressing room and try it on. Between the price tag and the fit, I had to take it home with me! I ended up wearing it Christmas day, but this dress is perfect for a family dinner, a holiday date night, or a more conservative New Year’s Eve look. I changed up the hair and makeup to show how a messy up-do and a dark lip can totally change the look!

2) The Sexy Separates

This ensemble is definitely not something for which I would typically reach. I don’t know what it was, but I was feeling daring. I liked that this skirt and top combo gave you the option make a multitude of outfits. For instance, can you imagine this lacey top with a pair of tight black pants and some sky high heels? Or what about this skirt with a plain black, long sleeved top? The possibilities are endless! I was surprised at how much I loved the look these two pieces together, though. The way the top is cut up a bit in the back gives it just enough of a “Wow!” factor. I think this combo is perfect for a more vampy night out or ringing in the New Year! The separate pieces make it sexy, but the lace keeps it classy at the same time. I kept my hair the same for this look, but I did show how a bold lip can really take this look to the next level! Va-va-voom!
