Favorite Products for Dry Skin

I’m so glad spring is right around the corner! BUH-bye winter! I won’t miss the clothing layers, random snow predictions, and whip-lash worthy temperature changes. Most of all, I won’t miss the dry skin! This winter was the absolute worst on my skin. Confession: It got so bad in some places, I would wear mittens to keep from scratching (Ted can vouch for me on that one!) That was quite the fashion statement! #sarcasmfont

Dry skin has been an issue from my head to my toes, so I knew I needed to compile an arsenal of both face and body products to help my skin go from rough and reptilian to smooth and supple. My routine consists of using certain lotions and moisturizers everyday, and other thicker formulations (think the cocoa butter crème, for instance) only a couple times a week, like after a shower, to really lock in any extra moisture.

You’ll notice a theme as far as face products as concerned. I’ve been a loyal Clinique girl ever since I started using skin care products (so yes, that means way back in my awkward high school years when I thought studded belts and wearing ribbons around my neck was cool #shudder) I love that their formulations are gentle on sensitive skin, and that they have a range of products for a variety of skin problems (Let’s not forget to mention that compared to other skincare brands, Clinique is TOTALLY affordable! #score)

Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel has always been a part of my routine, but when my skin started to get really bad, I brought the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief on board as well. This moisturizer is one of my new MVP, holy grail products because it’s a gel-like consistency that packs so much moisture into your skin. There’s few things I hate more than a thick, gloppy moisturizer, and this stuff definitely isn’t that!

The real MVP product for me, however, has been the Cortizone cream. This stuff worked wonders in the crooks of my elbows and behind my knees, both of which were my driest, patchiest areas. I’m not exaggerating when I say that after one application, my skin looked brand new again (Note to self: stock up on this miracle worker!)

I hope these recommendations help, because dry skin is no fun! Bonus? Most of these are from the drugstore! #walletfriendly
