Am I alone in feeling that worst part of wearing makeup is having to remove it? There are seriously times I debate even applying makeup in the first place, because I know that at the end of the day, when I’m super tired and want nothing more than to fall in bed, I’ll have to psych myself up just enough to take off all my handy work…which can be a really time comsuming task!
Therefore, I’m always on the look out for make up removal products that get the job done quickly and get it done well, but are also gentle on my oh so sensitive skin. I’ve tried everything from cleansing oils, to scrubs, to the ultimate lazy girl favorite; remover wipes. These products worked, but they also made me work! I’d have to use a large amount of product, and I’d have to use force and friction, and boy could it be a workout!
A couple of weeks ago, I began yet another quest for the best product to remove my makeup and ding, ding DING!!! I found a winner. I’d seen tons of commercials and magazine ads for the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, and I finally caved. I was intrigued by the idea of using a “water” to remove my makeup, because it seemed like it would be less harsh than some of the chemical laden products I’d used in the past.
I picked up a bottle at my local grocery store, and immediately wanted to test it later that night. Now, I will admit that I stared at the 2 versions of the Micellar Water, one has a pink top and one has a blue one, for a good 5-7 minutes trying to figure out the difference. Eventually I concluded that the product in the blue topped bottle is formulated to remove waterproof makeup, and I settled on that one! (Even if all the products I use aren’t water proof, I wear a LOT of makeup…so a little extra removing power can’t hurt!)
How I Use It: I use about 4-5 cotton rounds moistened with the product to remove my makeup every night. I use one on either side of my face, one on each eye, and then one on my lips if I was wearing a bold color that day.
The Verdict: This product removes all my makeup (yes, even mascara and eyeliner) gently, and with mininal effort. I can also honestly say that it has made my skin feel better. I know that’s vague, but after I remove my makeup with it, my skin feels clean and hydrated; better!
The Price: Full price is $8.99, but I’ve seen it on sale for around $7. This is a great price considering you get 13.5 oz and the product seems to last for over a month!
Where to Buy: It can be found at most drug stores, grocery stores, Target, and Ulta…what are you waiting for!? TRY IT!
Put down the lipstick! Drop the balm! Don’t touch the lip tint! Run…
